Terms, shipping & returns

These terms apply to purchases made on juliettebrekman.com. The seller is the artist Juliette Brekman, Warsaw, Poland. Every work sold here is an original, made and signed by her. Last updated 19 September 2026.

Ordering and payment

Prices are shown in US dollars and include everything except shipping, which is added at checkout according to your country. When you place an order the work is reserved for you and you receive payment instructions by e-mail. Payment is made through PayPal; we do not see or store your card details. The order is confirmed as soon as the payment arrives, and we let you know by e-mail.

Each work exists in one copy. If two orders for the same work arrive at almost the same time, the first paid order wins and the other is refunded in full immediately.

Shipping

Works are shipped from Warsaw, insured and tracked, in purpose-made packaging, usually within 5 working days of payment. Larger paintings may be shipped rolled or with a protective crate; we tell you in advance. Shipping rates by zone:

  • Zone A, Europe: $30 per work
  • Zone B, North America and Africa: $60 per work
  • Zone C, Asia, South and Central America, Australia and Oceania: $100 per work

Delivery normally takes 3 to 10 working days in Europe and 7 to 20 working days elsewhere. Outside the European Union your country may charge import duties or VAT on arrival; these are paid by the buyer and are not included in our prices. A certificate of authenticity signed by the artist is enclosed with every work.

Damage in transit

Every parcel is insured. Please inspect the work on delivery. If the packaging or the work is damaged, write to us within 48 hours with photographs of the parcel and the damage, and keep all packaging. We will arrange a repair, a replacement where possible, or a full refund, and handle the insurance claim ourselves.

Right of withdrawal and returns

If you are a consumer in the European Union you may withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving the work, without giving a reason. To do so, write to us through the contact page within those 14 days, then send the work back within a further 14 days, in its original condition and packed as carefully as it arrived. The cost of return shipping is borne by the buyer, and we recommend insuring the return. We refund the full price of the work and the original standard shipping cost within 14 days of receiving the work back, using the same payment method you used.

We extend the same 14-day return right to buyers outside the European Union. Works made to order on commission are made to your specification and cannot be returned, except when damaged or not as described.

Copyright

Buying a work gives you the physical object, not the copyright. The artist keeps the right to reproduce the image of the work, for example on this site, in a catalogue or in exhibition materials. You are welcome to photograph and share the work at home; please credit the artist.

Questions

Anything unclear, or a special request about framing, delivery timing or a commission: write to us through the contact page. We reply personally, usually within a day. Polish law applies to these terms; consumers keep the protection of the mandatory rules of their own country.
